I’m just one of hundreds of volunteers that hit the streets on the weekend, talking to our neighbors, finding votes, being kind, humble and courageous. Since it’s been pouring rain today, I’m writing to ask for small dollar donations.

All 18 candidates seeking to become Georgia’s next congressperson are set to appear at a debate on Wednesday, moderated by 11Alive’s Jeff Hullinger.
The event, which runs from 5 to 7 pm at downtown’s Georgia-Pacific Center, is part of the Atlanta Press Club Loudermilk-Young debate series, and will be streamed live here and on our Facebook page.

I hope to make 10 canvass shifts in the next couple of weeks, so up to a point, an additional donation could actually “sponsor” an additional door knock….but that level of detail seems unnecessary.

Also, there’s a tragic and still developing news story that happened on Monday in Atlanta, where a man who lived in Roswell targeted and shot an Asian American lawyer (and refugee rights advocate). The victim worked for Sandy Springs based UPS, and both Roswell and Sandy Springs are in GA-6. Police have reported “she was a target. Why she was a target, we do not know that yet." abcnews.go.com/…
I’ll note that the shooting victim may have made political donations to Barrack Obama and Bernie Sanders per OpenSecrets. This murder might also be a political attack, a hate crime. The perpetrator was apprehended on Tuesday.
