Early voting starts this Saturday in Nevada. It's continuing in Ohio, Iowa and North Carolina (and most counties in Florida through in-person absentee ballots). And it becomes available on Monday in Colorado and in Wisconsin. That means that this weekend we're already getting out the vote in 7 of 9 swing states (VA and NH don't have early voting, though VA has in person absentee voting if you have a commute, work, etc).
In 2008, early voting accounted for 1 in 5 votes in Wisconsin, more than 1 in 4 votes in Ohio, more than 1 in 3 votes in Iowa, more than 1 in 2 votes in both Florida and North Carolina, 2/3 of votes in Nevada and more than 3/4 of votes in Colorado.
how to help Get Out The Vote
Visit an Obama campaign office or give them a call;
Find an event near you;
Volunteer from home by making calls (español);
